FRIDAY 21ST JUNE
Took the 'Wave' bus downtown Monterey and walked to the bus station which was an Exxon service station .... bus was late but as I was to find out this was fairly normal..... they usually made up time on the road. It was interesting to say the least to find out how to do things..... like which side of the bus to stand and how to get the good seats.

First stop was Watsonville and a real pair of dingbats got on. They had only just met in the bus queue but they nattered loudly and aimlessly at each other the whole way to San Jose. The whole journey to San Francisco took four hours but it was interesting and surprisingly comfortable passing through prime artichoke country.
Cathy and her husband met me at the Station and once again it felt like we had known each other forever. They took me to the hostel to get settled in and then we went out to a lovely dinner complete with Jazz Combo.
